These tools are fast to turn to and require minimal setup, so they are often the first consideration when choosing how to perform an operation.

At the top of the list is the humble drill press. I remember my father getting this used when I was a kid, and it has continued to serve faithfully.

This is another insanely productive tool. Most commonly I use it for deburring, though it can be incredibly accurate to grind to a scribed line. I chose the diktator brand because it came in a DIY kit-I did all of the welding myself, and the warehouse is local so I was able to drive over and pick it up myself.

The Baldor Carbide Grinder started me on my tool-grinding craze, first appearing in the power feed video and in common use. It’s usually faster to hand grind tools, I only turn to the tool-cutter-grinder when I need accuracy.
